Flordelisa Perez-Dolan

Chief Development and Communications Officer

Flordelisa Perez Dolan joined Latin American Youth Center as its Major Gifts Director in May 2019 and is excited to currently serve as its Chief Development and Communications Officer. She’s a proud Puerto Rican who was born on the island and then moved to Long Island when she was six years old. Hearing the stories of injustice, her parents faced growing up low-income and Puerto Rican in Brooklyn stayed with her. This, coupled with being one of a few or only Latina in work and school settings, influenced her decision to gravitate towards racial and social justice non-profit organizations. She brings 20 years of experience leading cross-functional teams to successfully build trust and foster strong relationships with funders, board members, senior staff, and volunteers. Previously she was with AARP Foundation as a Donor Relations Officer where she stewarded, cultivated and solicited a pool of 2,000 donors that included current and former board members, legacy donors, major gift prospects, and AARP employees. At AARP Foundation, she raised funds to support low-income older adults across the United States.

She was also the Director of Development at Rising for Justice, a legal services nonprofit, where she led all fundraising and communications operations ranging from direct mail, grant writing, digital fundraising, special events, and individual giving. Flordelisa served as the Empowerment Center Director of the YWCA of Bethlehem in Pennsylvania, overseeing and managing programs for women and girls and racial justice programs. She has a BA in International Studies with a Minor in Spanish from Muhlenberg College and an MA in Political Science from Lehigh University. She is married to Dan Dolan and has a nine-year-old son (Finn). She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking with her son, meditating daily, going for walks, being in nature, and watching TV shows and movies (currently watching This Fool on Hulu).
