Welcome Christian Rhodes, the newest addition to our Board!
Christian Rhodes has recently become the latest person to join the LAYC Board of Directors. Join us in giving him a warm welcome to the LAYC community!
Christian is currently the Superintendent is Residence at BookNook, an e-learning provider on a mission “to ensure equitable access to rigorous and engaging instruction through technology innovation.” Prior to this role, Christian served as Senior Advisor to US Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and Chief of Staff for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. Before serving at the US government level, Christian played a critical role in our region’s education system as Chief of Staff for Prince George’s County Public Schools.
Other formative roles in Christian’s career include serving as a political organizer for the Maryland State Teachers Association, education advisor Office of the Prince George’s County Executive, and as a state affiliate of the National Education Association. Christian has a Masters of Public Administration from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
Christian’s background and expertise will ensure LAYC safeguards equitable access to innovative education programs and paths.
