College Access

LAYC’s College Access team works with students and families to prepare students for success in high school and college through homework assistance, academic tutoring, a dedicated mentor, monthly social-emotional/life workshops, and monthly check-ins. Support will improve students’ academic performance and provide enrichment opportunities that aid in students’ personal, academic and social lives. We create a safe, caring and culturally sensitive, bilingual environment where students and families build long-term, productive relationships with experienced mentors.

MY DREAM WAS ALWAYS TO BECOME A NURSE. WITHOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP, I WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO AFFORD SANZ SCHOOL. AS A RESULT, I’VE BEEN A MEDICAL ASSISTANT FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS NOW AND I AM ENROLLING IN UDC’S NURSING PROGRAM.

-Flor Carranza, New Futures Scholar

For those who are eligible to apply for a second New Futures scholarship, New Futures will award a limited number of scholarships of up to $7,800.00 for Certificate, Associate and Bachelor programs
