We Can Do This Together

As the pandemic continue to impact our daily lives, the mission of LAYC has never been more clear. We are still here to serve our youth and communities. We do this by stepping in to fill service and resource gaps that have been exacerbated by systemic racism, and by providing opportunities for the healing, belonging, and learning that our Black and brown young people deserve.

YOUTH AND COMMUNITY NEEDS REMAIN AT THE HEART OF OUR WORK

Program recruitment and youth check-ins continue, and we are serving youth and families through virtual academic, enrichment, wellness, mental health, and workforce programming, as well as safe in-person services such as safe housing support and STI and pregnancy testing.

This moment in time has called me and my colleagues at LAYC to respond as essential workers in our community. Like you, we are eager to have this pandemic behind us and, while we hope for the best, we prepare for the long journey ahead towards healing and recovery.

TOGETHER FOR HOPE

The challenges are community is facing will only increase in the coming year and beyond, and we know that we cannot do this work alone. Partnerships, collaboration, and widespread community support have been a source of strength and resiliency this year, and critical to protecting the well-being of thousands of LAYC youth and families.

With continued community support, LAYC will continue to be an anchor for our youth and families, responding to immediate needs while providing youth with supportive learning environments and critical connections to their community.

This holiday season, there are two ways you can support LAYC youth and families.

Through December 31, 2020, you can double your impact while Alice and Russell True Foundation matches all new or increased individual donations up to $50,000!

Thank you for helping LAYC lift up our community.

Wishing you peace during the holiday season,

Lupi Quinteros-Grady,
LAYC President & CEO
