In the music program the art + media house offers classes ranging from production to hip-hop dance.  Program participants’ gain and understanding of the history of hip–hop. Youth develop their unique style, but often work in collaboration with other youth.

Sample Music Classes

Beatmaking

Youth make beats with a computer and real instruments to create their own music. Styles may vary between reggaeton, hip-hop or rock.

DJ

Youth receive hands-on experience with mixing, scratching and blending. Using vinyl and CD’s youth learn the art and business of DJ’ing.

Hip-Hop Dance

Youth come together to learn how to do the moves for hip-hop dance, reggaeton and pop & lock.

Music Recording

This class is for youth who create music and want to learn to audio engineering.
